When Does The New Year Really Start?

I already know what most of you are saying… “Does she not know?” Lol!

Sure I do!  Our new calendar year, starts January 1st.  Aren’t you proud of me?

Ok.  What I’m realllly  asking is, “When does the new year start for you”?

We know that the approach to January includes: resolutions, goals, standards, new visions, ideas and mindsets.  I’ve often wondered, what makes the clock striking midnight on January 1st so “magical”? I do understand that a new year, represents “newness” in so many things.  However, all the great things we come up with as we start a new year, often fade away between the 4th and 6th month of the year, if not before then.  This doesn’t apply to all people, but there are quite a few of those who can agree. But what if I start or vow to do something in the middle of the year that I end up being consistent with?  Doesn’t that speak just as loud as what I do on January 1st?

This may sound crazy, but if you’ll indulge me, I want to invite you to perceive the meaning of a “new year”, a little differently.

Each month of the year, millions of people celebrate their birthdays.  Although January is the first month of the year, it’s not the only month.  A lot of people in this world were born from February to December.  What is my point? Every month, a certain amount of people celebrate a “new year” of life. Literally.  In other words, each year in a specific month, someone celebrates a new…year.

Sorry my point is taking so long. Is it sinking in?

Whenever something is birthed, that is when a “new” thing starts!  Okay…what I’m saying is that whenever you decide to birth something, that’s really a new…year.

I’ve said it several ways now…I just want you to see it😊

I feel like we don’t have to wait until January to start fresh.  If we start something and see it through, that, in my opinion, constitutes something new! Another thing is to not focus on such huge or grand ideas and skip over small, minute practices.

I’ve taken a look at my own life. I want to make sure that I’m consistently, being consistent, in whatever I try to do. I’m very good at starting something and not finishing it.  Before I go to a grand gesture, I’m really searching myself to see socially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically, where I’m not consistent.  It’s those small things that will cause the things on a larger scale to be unsuccessful.

Ask yourself this question: "What am I not doing that can keep my visions and ideas from reaching their maximum potential?"  I suggest that if you grab those things that aren’t stable and change that simple fact? Your “new” will be more than just a year, but a lifetime.

I’ll ask again: “When does the new year really start?”

I’m going to answer first.  I believe it starts, when you make up your mind, to change your mind.  That can happen at any moment throughout the year, right?

Don’t be pressed by a date…be eager to change some things and follow through with it.  The day you birth discipline in ANY area, you’re in a “new year”.

Can you kind of see things my way? I really, really hope so…I don’t want you to feel the pressure of a particular month to perform when you’re not really ready to.  Prepare yourself, motivate yourself, and then discipline yourself. I feel like you could be saying “Happy New Year” in the middle of June…a new mindset thankfully isn’t controlled by a calendar!!!! ANYtime of the year can be equivalent to “new”, for you. Sooooooo…here I go again.

“When does the new year really start?” Only you can answer that, but I would love to hear about it!!!

Here's to you experiencing the "new", all....year....long!!!! As far as I'm concerned, you can live by your own calendar and celebrate you whenever you get ready.

Create your new...there's nothing like looking back at something that plagued you in any kind of way and you can now say you have discipline over it.

Happy New…You😉

"Prepare yourself, motivate yourself and discipline yourself..ANYtime of the year can be equivalent to “new”, for you." Wow, I love the blog! This has helped me to not be so hard on myself if I don't get it right the first time, I still have time to start over with my new. Thank you!😊
